Do you like Friendster? I’m not so much of a fan of this social networking site, which is very popular here in the Philippines. So I didn’t get much thrilled either when I found out that WireClub.com smells like Friendster, too.

How Friendster’ish is it? You open an account. You complete your profile. You add or invite friends. You can create your blog. You can join clubs.

Pros of WireClub.com

However, it’s great that it’s easy to sign up. No email confirmation required and it didn’t take me more than a minute to sign up for an account.

Its one fun-looking feature, too, which I haven’t tried yet is its chat with friends feature. I think the chatting is just actually forum posting. But I’m not so sure because there’s a chat button that only leads you to a form that you fill out that will sort of just let you leave a message for another user.

Cons of WireClub.com

The user details or profile part annoyed me a bit because the supposed to be blanks that a user should fill out are in drop-down forms with “Prefer not to say” option as the default. I think it’s a lot more fun to fill out blanks with more creative thoughts than have lesser choice, which the drop-down menu offers.

I also didn’t like the ad on its header. I mean, sure, it has to make money but not that early and not that on my face. For a social networking site, I hope that it started marketing its site well first before slapping on ads.

It’s about page did not mention anything about the site but only led me to a homepage looking page. I hope the about page will be furnished soon so it can inform better its potential users about the features of this social networking site claiming to offer free chat & dating.

The site is hard to navigate, too. It’s a bit cluttered and would look better if it has a different header, maybe a Web 2.0′ish header and overall layout of some sort will give the site and the service more justice.
