Moi and mi familia rarely go out to dinners these days so even though I’m chasing a deadline today, I still bravely told everyone to give the TV a break and let’s eat out for dinner.
I’ve asked my youngest bro to decide where to go this time and he revved our old L300’s engine towards Clark. I thought he’s got one resto in mind but he later on confessed that he actually was just looking for a new place to go to. But since it’s already 10:30pm, we landed nowhere. So off we went going round and round until I remembered Zapata’s, the Mexican food restaurant. While trying to help myself not to drool over my fantasies of burrito and quesadilla,
One time, one of the SEO article writers who took a break from writing sent me a promotional email regarding their band - Machina.
I think it was sent during crunch time so I somewhat forgot about it. But while playing like a cool gf looking for Rage Against the Machine music videos on YouTube for the sheer happiness of dude, I remembered about the email.
I just want to say thank you to SanMig coffee original flavor for keeping me stay awake from 4pm to 8am everyday to blog, read articles, and other VA projects.
Why such an abnormal work schedule? You see my almost-2-year-old niece is in her noisiest and most fidgety stage. Trust her to always boss me around and sit on my lap banging the keyboard whenever I have to leave the living room for a few minutes to check emails.
Where’s her mom? Currently trying to get the hang of working as a virtual assistant. So really I don’t mind. But again, thanks to whoever discovered coffee as a stimulant.
Social sites are the loves of my life these past few weeks. Thanks to TechCrunch and AppScout, I found too many social sites to get my bored jiggly self get busy again. One of those sites screaming “using people to generate content (and revenue)” that attracted my attention is ELifeList.
ELifeList is just like 43Things, wherein you list down whatever you’d like to do with your life. And boy did I aggravated my carpal tunnel syndrome listing all the things that I’d like to do with my precious life.
What I love about ELifeList is you can categorize your to-do lists into whatever kind of categorizing you want to do with ‘em. Like any productivity-expert-wannabe, I fashioned my list with long-term, short-term, and whims. Was that impressive enough? No?!
Then, show me how.. Try ELifeList.
And nope I wasn’t paid to write about it. So this is me just being informative.

Pad.. Yikes.. It’s one of those annoying words yuppies would use to refer to their apartments or condo units. Why were they called pads? It sounded more like a woman’s thing.. You know… Ok, I’m just dead-tired of researching for etymologies today so I won’t bother googling why’s such a place called “pad”. Is it because it’s like a pad of paper waiting to be filled with appliances and whatever contraption a busy bee doesn’t have time (I said time, not money), to buy? Read the rest of this entry »

Dude’s cousin, a youngster named Ryan, (labeled him youngster because he’s just 23), got married to an Ynez-Veneracion-look-a-like lady named Jen. They’re a cute couple I must say. The guy looking so innocent and lady looking a bit more learned. But that’s just me, of course.
Whenever I attend wedding ceremonies, I never fail to count the number of godmothers and godfathers. And this time, as I’ve expected, there were 10 pairs of ‘em. So, a total of 20 wedding godparents! But why?
No matter if you’re a popular person or just a simpleton, why has it become a common thing for Filipinos to get too many godparents? I think this is also true with baptismal ceremonies, right?
I wish that the reason is so that many would bless the couple or guide them during their married life. But the common notion is, especially for not-so-rich folks, to break even with their wedding party expenses!
Stop taking obligation for others’ happiness. Only then can you pursue what you really love doing.
If you can’t do that thinking that it’s too selfish a move, settle for something less temporarily while creeping slowly toward your dream job.
By the way, what’s your dream job?
While doing my regular job search for everyone else I know who’s looking for a new job, I discovered that JobStreet Philippines has a new feature - Featured Job.
I guess the difference between a featured job and an ordinary job opening post is that the recruitment staff paid more for its job post to stand out.
When I researched about this feature, I got led to the Classifieds section’s “Featured Job” details in stead of the common job posts. The classified section allows job ads to be posted for a lower rate $18 - $25.
This is the employer version of the featured resumes or something to that effect, which is mainly, for a certain fee, one option for job seekers to get their resumes highlighted whenever they use it when applying for any JobStreet job ads.
I wonder if it this kind of feature will considerably improve the results that employers desire from job listing sites like JobStreet. I mean, even if it’s noted as a Featured Job, if your qualifications doesn’t match that job’s requirements, what’s the use, right? Or maybe there’s just another set of advantages that a featured job gets that’s not seen by jobseekers’ naked eyes.
I’m no geek and although you might think that knowing the specs of a computer system is a cinch, I’m amazed that I finally know how to check my computers RAM, video card, and memory. LOL!
Thanks to one of my kindest clients, I’m no longer as ignorant with computer terms as before. If you’re like me who can’t check his or her PC’s specs, here:
For the video card specs:
START > Settings > Control Panel > Display > Settings > Adapter
You can obtain info re: chip type and memory size.
To know your computer’s processor, RAM and operating system (at least I know this one already):
Start > Settings > Control Panel > System
