Amit had to settle for the second place losing to Xiao-Ting Pan of China for the Amway WPA Women’s 9 ball Championship in Taipei. Despite this loss she still has a few winning victories against Ga Young Kim of Korea and Allison Fisher on her way to the semi finals, which builds her career in women’s billiards. Not bad at all. Even just meeting these champions would be something to have done but competing with them and beating them is something else. So, hooray to Rubilen for bringing the 2nd place, congratulations!
Filipina billiards star Rubilen Amit rammed into an in-form Xiao-Ting Pan of China and lost, 5-11, to settle for second place in the 2007 Amway WPA Women’s World 9-Ball Championship at the Taipei Gymnasium in Taiwan Sunday night.
The 25-year-old Amit, however, would have something to build upon after coming up with huge victories against World No. 1 Ga Young Kim of Korea and Allison Fisher on her way to the semifinals. Both Amit and Pan had an identical 4-1 win-loss record in their group stages before reaching the single knock-out stage using the winner’s break format.
