While reading my RSS subscriptions, I stumbled upon a Virtual Assistant’s blog whose mugshot I intuitively judged as that of a Filipina lady. And when I’ve read her blog’s URL and then an e-mail from her, my suspicion got confirmed – she’s Sharon Sarmiento. What could be more Filipina than her name?
Seriously, what got me to take notice of this virtual assistance company owner’s blog, aside from her pretty face, was her 4-day work week experiment. It’s a home business owner’s attempt to cut down on time spent working while maintaining optimum productivity. In short, it’s getting more done with less time.
Of course, I’d like to try the experiment myself. But I discovered that I can’t do the 4-day work week per se since I have to check on the output of the writers daily. So, I decided to just cut down on my hours-per-day spent in front of the computer to still participate on this key productivity test.
Instead of my usual 10 hours per day work schedule, I’m daring myself to work only 6 hours each day excluding Sunday.
Researching, blogging, writing and checking SEO articles, and answering e-mails should all be accomplished within those 6 holy hours. I think I’m being a bit drastic but I’ll definitely adjust if I encounter any trouble while doing this GTDWL (Get Things Done Well with Less Time) experiment.
It will surely be a big achievement for me if I come out alive. Hehe.
Thanks, Sharon, for this very innovative idea of yours.
Here’s Sharon’s own 4-day work week survival tips.

Whoah! I haven’t been checking on my comments lately.
@ Sharon
Too bad I wasn’t able to start on it yet. New responsibilities got in the way. But I’ll definitely try this again, soon.
@ Lurchelle,
Hi. How are you?
