Isulong SEOPH Makata and Not-so Makata Tactics

// June 23rd, 2006

More and more Isulong SEOPH participants are gaining good ground for their entries these past few days. While mine is doing really bad due to a plethora of reasons, others are doing well using a myriad of SEO techniques.

One of the more seemingly learned Isulong SEOPH participants is courting Mama Google (yes Major, I believe Mama Google is a lot appropriate, hehe) through his sweet talk ala Balagtas. However, I get a bit lost at times when I read his poetic stuff maybe because they’re too di maarok or archaic or whatever. Nonetheless, we’ll never know what will float Mama Google’s boat, right?

While doing my routine check for my Isulong SEOPH entry’s rank and backlinks, I discovered some backlinks from odd sites. I found some backlinks from a Japanese site and from other sites that are far from being readable to a Filipino.

I remember reading something about those kinds of links from another Isulong SEOPH participant.

Could it be that I’m also another victim of this back-stabbing form of SEO technique? I tried to learn more about this and was led to the SEO Philippines founder Marc Macalua’s post about the effects of bad links.

Now what’s unclear is how do you really define a bad link? What kind of links will bring down my Isulong SEOPH entry?

    […] Alfa’s comment on not-so-makata seo tactics caught my eye. I’ve a lot of opinions on how SEO is done by people but I think it’s not really worth mentioning. All I can say is that some of them seem to really be really done in “bad taste.” Well, to each his own. […]
