Launching of Xevera Subdivision at Calibutbut Bacolor Pampanga

1 Comment » // January 20th, 2008

I love the perks of investing on real estate - I get informed about free shows! Just recently, my real estate broker sent me invites to Xevera Subdivision’s launch show, which was held in Expo Filipino Clark.

My six invites allowed me to bring along with me Dude, my bro’s family and a friend of his. There were lots of people and chaos, of course.

We got to the Expo Filipino amphiteater about two hours late so we only got to watch just a few of the entertainers. The highlights for me were Manny “Pooh” Pacquiao’s performance - not as sickeningly funny as his/her Wowowee jokes but still better than the rest. I definitely enjoyed the dance number of Victor Basa, Jake Cuenca, and the Bench model and another ABS-CBN actor whose name I haven’t heard. There were Pinoy Big Brother folks like Mariel, Toni Gonzaga, the Hawak Kamay singer and Cassandra Ponti (?).

Also, I won’t be able to forget John Lloyd’s boyish cuteness but too bad Basha, er, Bea Alonzo wasn’t with him.

Sarah Geronimo’s rendition of Beyonce Knowles’ Listen was quite commendable, too. We’re quite grateful for the confetti shower because it caught the attention of my fidgety two-year old niece for a good minute. Mikee was so restless that I only got to relish about 10% of the show!

The new community, as Globe Asiatique’s President Delfin Lee refuses to call Xevera as a housing project, seems to be one that will tickle the fancy of many mid-class Pampanga residents and Clark workers. For only Php5,000 per month you can avail of a unit.

Why won’t Delfin Lee call Xevera a housing project? He implied that it’s already an all-in-one community since it has a church, a transportation terminal, a market, and a school.

But what’s the catch? I’ve heard that Xevera houses’ area size can be as minute as 45 square meters. I think that’s too small.

What Keeps Me Busy

Comment now » // January 13th, 2008

Cel asked me why I don’t update this blog anymore. She’s one of my best friends who left me to enjoy the Philippines all on my own. Seriously, she’s in Las Vegas (right?) now bumming around, er, relishing the moments before dragging herself to find a job. Emuku panagkasan! Hehe. (Don’t cuss at me.)

Ok, so here’s an update:

Aside from creating a new system for my virtual assistant projects, I’m also trying to iron out some financial troubles like the EON online bank account enrolment that causes all of my payout to get stuck in PayPal, following up the settlement of some invoices, and managing the payroll of my meta-VA’s (as how my recentest client call my team of VA’s).

My 2-year-old niece also keeps me up and about running after her or screaming at her “Stop running! Walk carefully!”, almost every 8 seconds because she either bumps into a wall or table or stumble and fall every 8 darn seconds.

Nothing much if you’ll really scrutinize my schedule but currently it’s poor delegation that’s busting all my quality time, thus the new system structure I’m working on.

I hope you soon find something to keep yourself with.

The Hitman: Timothy Olyphant is My New Jason Statham

1 Comment » // November 27th, 2007

After watching too many Jason Statham movies - War, Crank, The Italian Job, Transporter I and II, Chaos and Dude knows what other movies we’ve watched that has this bald actor as the lead actor, I sure haven’t gotten tired of him. But I just needed some new bald actor to drool on.

Thanks to Timothy Olyphant and “The Hitman” I found another bald boy to look out for, with a barcode on the back of the head to boot! The movie won’t make you go “Whoah!” like the latest Die Hard, in which Timothy Olyphant was the villain. But I find it a bit refreshing that there’s no s*x scenes when many of these types of movies just can’t let a film go by without showing some skin of the hunky actor.

To feel like a real movie critic, I’ll give Timothy Olyphant’s The Hitman 3 out of 5 stars. Hehe.

Search for the Best Two-Seater Sofa LoveSeat

Comment now » // October 18th, 2007

There’s always this feeling that I get about my home-office/bedroom lacking a more accommodating ambience. Although Mikee, my almost two-year-old niece won’t have any problem about it. My brothers and Dude can definitely use a more comfy way of having some small chit-chat with me. And I’ve discovered that it’s a sofa that’s missing in the picture.

I don’t want just any creaky monobloc chair because I’m trying to make most of my purchases serve as investments. Investments! Gosh what word can make me more nervous than this word? Ok, “accidents” make me nervous, too. “Snicker cheesecake” makes me feel nervous, too, in a good way. And “revision requests”. And.. ok, I’ll stop it.

Eyelid Twitch: No Thanks to SanMig Coffee

4 Comments » // September 16th, 2007

The whole day, every few hours I’ve been experiencing annoying twitching of my upper left eyelid. Although I know that it shouldn’t cause much worries, I still wasn’t able to control myself to learn more about this condition.

I’ve found out that eyelid twitch is also known as blepharospasm and it’s caused by dry eyes or too much fatigue, lack of sleep, and CAFFEINE!

Sure, I haven’t been having enough sleep for quite some time now. Oh, there it goes again. My eyelid is twitching again while I’m typing this, which signals that I really need to get some shuteye now or my eyes will be shut forever. :-(

SM Pampanga Informatics Memories

2 Comments » // September 7th, 2007

A few years ago, I tried to keep up with a geeky bf through learning computer stuff. Informatics, a relatively new computer school back then, made this possible for me. Although I have to admit that I had not really learned much that I didn’t know before, it was still a great experience for me. What contributed to my not learning much was that my classmates are really all computer newbies that they can’t even type well, not even the “pindot” system (wherein you just use your index finger to type).

Well, what can you expect from a Computer Basics short-term course. I got tricked by the MS Office course title.

Sleepless But Sunny Monday

Comment now » // August 27th, 2007

I haven’t slept yet since yesterday. Nothing new I know. But I’d just like everyone to be infected with my sunny Monday mood! Don’t take it literally since I don’t usually like sunny days because in the Philippines sunny is sweltering hot sunny. Not sunny as in happy day sunny. I’m not making any sense anymore I know (again). I’m such a know-it-all!

Today is my ingkung’s (grandpa) 81st birthday. And knowing my fiesta-lovin’ aunts and uncles, it’ll definitely be celebrated with a bang with all the usual cholesterol-level-spiking food such as lechon and Susie’s treats - tibok-tibok, mochi, leche flan, and whatever native Kapampangan sweets there is. Sleep deprivation and oily food, uh-oh.

Aside from my ingkung’s birthday celebration, this Monday is extra good to me because
