Have you ever used the public domain to make money online? I’ve never tried it before but I know that many are earning lots from this source of income. For the uninitiated, public domain is when a product such as a book, music, photos, software and other media’s copyright expires. These products then can be legally copied and resold for profit.

According to Wikipedia, a product’s copyright is considered expired if the product was created and first published before January 1, 1923, or at least 95 years before January 1 of the current year, whichever is later;

Here are ways that you can earn from public domain products:

- Create infoproducts such as e-books that you can resell

- Use public domain books as site content

- As a marketing tool, you can use public domain products as freebies to earn newsletter subscribers

If you’ve already been using public domain products, care to share some tips?

Actually, I wasn’t able to do it well – maintaining to accomplish some tasks for my clients while having to stay overnight for three straight days to attend my Grandfather’s wake, who passed away last February 20.

It’s a good thing one of my clients whom I regularly communicate with via instant messaging was kind enough to let me have a break.

However, the drive to create posts for the blog network blogs I write for dwindled.

Replying to emails was the most challenging because I can’t entrust this activity to anyone else just yet. As a result, I lost one project that one of my favorite clients offered to me.

The routine tasks like social network site accounts maintenance and re-posting blogs were done smoothly with the help of my meta-VA’s.

I, therefore, conclude that although I’m thankful that I have a trusty team that helps me get through these bad events in my life, I should also learn to trust others to perform email managemement. And make it a habit to future-post blog writeups.

Ever experienced troubles with your business like what I’ve encountered? How did you manage to handle such events?

With lots of distractions nowadays – gadgets, text messages, friends visiting and in my case, a fidgety two-year-old niece, it’s a never-ending battle to keep your productivity in tip-top shape.

So how do I keep myself productive? Currently, my to-do list written on a gigantic whiteboard staring at me the whole day makes me get things done like all of my clients are breathing down my neck.

Aside from this too drastic method of pushing oneself to make sure things are flowing smoothly, I’m sure there are more methods to do this.

If you work from home, of course, you can’t do this intriguing way of keeping yourself productive. But I’m sure you’ve got your own way of keeping your momentum.

So what is it? How do you keep yourself going and going and going?

No that’s not a misspelled H-U-M-P! Hmp as in a Filipinos expression of annoyance.

I stopped minding this blog’s nonexistent pagerank since my TLA earnings wasn’t that much affected. But the traffic.. goodness… The traffic on my new blog. Oh did I already mention that I got a new blog? I’m now a part of the Know More Media family and I’m maintaining Productivity Goal.

Just when I thought I can start saving up for a MacBook Air just so I can use Office 2008 for Mac (want some of its Excel Ledger Sheets), Google surprised me again with its annoying dance, which left my blog’s traffic heading south!

Hmp! Hmp! Hmp!

A brand new laptop is one of my top must-have gadgets when I started dreaming designing my home office. However, the year’s almost over and I haven’t even decided yet what brand with what specs to get!

When typhoons Lando and Mina went Fujiwara’ing, can’t help but worry a great deal about my work. I can sense that series of brownouts everyday or so are about to happen. And guess what? I haven’t heeded Gab’s suggestion yet about getting an inexpensive generator. So I believe I could at least get myself an extra and more useful tool to extend my online presence and probably help me get a feel of my new goal – mobile working.

Although I’m dying to, I won’t be able to buy it asap because of some financial trouble that I’m praying hard to get over and done with within this week. But by hook or by crook, I’m sure I’ll be able to gift myself with one on my birthday. Haha!

So dear walk-in visitors, email and RSS feed subscribers and passersby from search engines, would you mind telling me about your laptop brands and their specs? What would you recommend for a writer/virtual assistant like me?

I know that I promised to regularly post home based job updates here and my other promised regular blog content – Tell Me What Tuesday and Technology Thursday. However, I can’t help but slow down on blogging since there are some new and exciting projects that I’m working on.

One is this blog marketing project, which I all invite you take part in. Other projects require more of my time although I consider them as think jobs.
