Yesterday, this silly girl felt like going to the church in the middle of the night. Why? She saw the freshly added balance on her UnionBank Visa EON cyber account.

I’ve been crossing my fingers since January 18, the day I’ve withdrawn the money from PayPal and get it deposited to my debit card. Luckily, after three banking days, the debit card online account quickly reflected the funds. But before that, I heeded the advice of the experienced EON users – I transferred a few hundreds of pesos first. So if you’re planning to use EON for Paypal withdrawals, don’t forget about that advice – deposit even a small amount of money on your EON debit card first. Right after I transferred some funds, PayPal easily accepted my EON card registration.

Many of the projects I’m working these days require blog marketing. And I’ve learned that social media particularly the use of social networking sites can be very helpful in getting the word out about a service or product.

How many not-so-popular folks have gained massive popularity due to these social sites? How many YouTube and MySpace stars do we have? I’ve yet to learn about someone who have gained sudden popularity due to Facebook though. Know anyone?
I’m especially liking BlogCatalog right now and I’ve witnessed how MySpace can drive some quality traffic to a certain blog. But now I’d like to know which of these social networking sites are working best for you.

Dozens of social networking sites are a-popping every week. Which of these are bringing the most eyeball or have successfully led great customers or clients to you?

No that’s not a misspelled H-U-M-P! Hmp as in a Filipinos expression of annoyance.

I stopped minding this blog’s nonexistent pagerank since my TLA earnings wasn’t that much affected. But the traffic.. goodness… The traffic on my new blog. Oh did I already mention that I got a new blog? I’m now a part of the Know More Media family and I’m maintaining Productivity Goal.

Just when I thought I can start saving up for a MacBook Air just so I can use Office 2008 for Mac (want some of its Excel Ledger Sheets), Google surprised me again with its annoying dance, which left my blog’s traffic heading south!

Hmp! Hmp! Hmp!

Someone who calls himself/herself the G (cool alias by the way) sent me an email asking me about AdSense and freelancing payment.

Here are my answers to his or her questions:

one question pala regarding this adsense is “how do i get paid?” i’ve heard of paypal, visa etc. but i just need to hear from a person (not the writeup) if these really work. how’s the payment secured?

AdSense will pay you either through Western Union, dollar check delivery or Secured Express Delivery. I use Standard Dollar Check Delivery because I don’t want deductions and I haven’t tried Western Union yet. But I know that the Standard Delivery is not safe because people at the post office can do hocus pocus on your check.

do the owners of these adsense accounts really get their money?

It’s the year when more and more attention will be hurled at us virtual assistants doing our best to provide various services for fellow entrepreneurs who are trying to outsource what they can.

An instance of this pleasant attention is this feature article segment from Reader’s Digest January 2008 issue that Mars Mosqueda written about running a virtual assistant business as a new way to make a living. The piece mentioned the earning potential and the skills required to make it as a virtual assistant quoted from one of my best clients and mentor – Jonathan Gabriel, the serial entrepreneur and proud founder of virtual assistant services firm DistantSupport.

Happy 2008 everyone!

Remember my 2007 biz goals? I’m happy to say that I managed to achieve 3 out of 5 of my goals – more blogging jobs, create more blog posts, and start a new Internet-based business.

I’m going to continue on attempting to complete the two goals I wasn’t able to accomplish – creating stylesheets and the $300/month blog income. This 2008, I’m also including bolder goals like the following:

• Stick to monthly retainer agreements
• Put up a formal website
• Have a paperless home office
• Learn web design
• Master one project management software
• Get a feel of working from anywhere.

The expenses and technical stuff involved in accomplishing this list of goals make me more nervous than my 2007 goals. But I will definitely do my best.
