Tell Me What Tuesday: Ever Used Freelance Job Marketplaces to Land Online Jobs?
A few months ago, I experimented on freelance service marketplaces like GetaFreelancer.com and Scriptlance.com. I even paid about $30 for a premium provider account. But to no avail, I never landed a freelance project through any of those. Blame it to my laziness to come up with a winning bid or proposal and the discouragement I felt when I saw Indian freelancers’ uber-low rates.
But a few days ago, I’ve learned about oDesk which seemed to me like a not-so-saturated marketplace for virtual service providers. I’ve bidded on two projects and I surprisingly landed the second one!
It’s a proof that one should never lose hope.
So have you ever tried these freelance service marketplaces? If yes, which ones were you most successful with? Which ones will you never recommend?

I tried getafreelancer before but it seems the people there don’t hire ordinary members. I just got frustrated by submitting proposals and free samples.
I’ve also heard a lot of good come from oDesk. Hopefully it doesn’t become the same cutthroat and crowded market as the others. Oh, do try mturk too
