10 Tips to Get Rid of Distractions While Working from Home
After a few weeks realizing that I need to be really good at dealing with my favorite distraction, I also learned of other ways on how to avoid more of these stuff that stifle productivity of many aspiring freelancers and work-at-home folks.
Here are 10 ways to avoid distractions for those who chose to work at home.
1. Set a working schedule.
2. Handle email reading and answering like a productivity pro. Filter emails and don’t use your business email for non-business-related stuff.
3. Create a system. And avoid doing what you should not .
5. Set up a home office and keep it organized or systematically-messy if you can only be productive that way, like me

6. Place anything that will remind that why you need to not get distracted near you. Here’s mine.
7. Manage your RSS. I’m still working on it but I’ve noticed that using folders and unsubscribing from blogs that I just keep on skipping whenever I enter my Bloglines saves me a lot of time.
8. If you can, sign out of your IM. Or use these IM tricks.
9. Explain to family and friends that you are actually “working” at home, which means you are not free every time they want (not need) your company.
10. Allow some quick distractions every now and then. It will prevent you from getting stressed out.
