Top 3 Reasons Why You Have to Work from Home
Don’t get me wrong 9 to 5′ers have their own share of perks - stable salary, nonexistent feeling of isolation problems, benefits, etc. However, these three reasons made me forget about having to meet the bundy clock everyday:
1. Working from Home is Liberating. (translation: I like to feed my being an introvert.)
If you work from home either doing a one-man show running a home based business or working as a virtual assistant for an Internet marketer or a real estate broker, it rids you of those stressful days when you have to endure the presence of your boss breathing down your neck.Â
IMO, do you hate feeling isolated that’s why you love the office setting? I love isolation! I mean, I’m born an introvert and all but I really don’t have any problem with that. My friends, who are mostly 9 to 5′ers know me that way and it’s what helps define my personality. And, it just so happened that working from home makes me enjoy more this character of mine.
2. Home Based Workers have More Choices
If you are good with time management, that is. Who wants to be stuck with a dead-end job? Do I see raised hands? What, you’re trying to dethrone me as the queen of weirdos? Of course, we all want options. And working at home just gives you that as long as you play your cards right. Yes, speaking of cards, deciding to work at home is a big gamble like what life is all about. So you still have to do your homework, pun definitely intended, before you jump the gun.
Working from home allowed me to have, wait let me count… 1, 2, 3… Six, yes, six. It allowed me to deal with six bosses and counting, really. It’s not easy but with all of them okay with my flexible schedule (read: work when you’re at your most productive), it’s manageable. More manageable than having to attend meetings, seminars that won’t help you grow professionally. In between crunch time and updating these bosses about projects, I can sneak in some fun time with my playful niece who love to pretend like she is working like her aunt.
3. Way Way More Moolah in Your Bank Account Thanks to a Home Based Career
Since you get to control your time and be more productive, if you’re good at busting distractions, of course, there’s the big fat possibility of earning more. If I’m working with six bosses and I’m barely making both ends meet? I’ll head back to the HR office and take back my resignation letter. Not that it’s possible. Hehe.. The point is if you are doing your best to make the most out of working from home - flexible schedule =Â improved productivity = more time to look for extra sources of income/more projects, and you are keeping yourself at the top of your game, it’s not hard to be more financially stable compared to doing an office job.
There are tons of other reasons why you should consider a working from home - more environment-friendly due to the lack of having to use the car, it’s cheaper, no dress code, etc. So yeah, it’s easy to fall in love with a work-at-home setting, isn’t it? But if you still think it’s not for you, no one’s forcing you to have a change of heart.
There’s a similar post about this that I’ve written eons ago. However, it’s more about why “work from home in the Philippines running a home based business” rather than why “work from home anywhere as a telecommuter for an employer AND/OR running a home business.”Â

I very much agree with you on point number one! I´m a complete introvert and although I usually get along with my bosses, I almost never get along with my coworkers who want to party all the time! (ok, so I´ve worked in a lot of bars!)

@Genesis,
LOL! I’m beginning to wonder if working at home is really becoming the best working arrangement for all introverts.
Seriously, it definitely is a wiser move for those who’d like to be more productive and are creative enough to not feel isolated.

[…] Working from home is not a bed of roses but it’s not rocket science either. Although there are gazillions of reasons to prefer to work at home, there are just people who are not fit to do it. Other reasons why earning a living from home won’t suit a person include not having the required skills and equipment to work at home, hating the isolating nature of working from home, not having enough emergency fund to brave the ups and downs of self-employment, or simply the lack of guts to do it.
