Monica Climaco, a web developer, said something about not relying solely on what books taught you. Being a self-learner and not being afraid to take on challenging tasks and to ask for help from the experts were also some of the her bits of advice one has to heed.
Mel Panabi, a corporate blogger and freelance writer, stressed the importance of time management skills, the ability to meet deadlines and the indispensable tools to make it in working from home doing blogging gigs – a high speed Internet connection and a computer.

I agree that deadlines are important…but so is making sure you don’t get too far ahead! I worked at a magazine, and very often our enthusiasm left us with nothing to do for 2 weeks until the next issue ideas were formed.
