Home Business Goals Update
Working from home in the Philippines, especially doing online jobs, is one fun feat because aside from the possibility of getting paid in dollars, which is equivalent to approx. Php48 as of this time being, technology makes many tasks easier to accomplish.
So after three months, I’m glad to take note of which goals I’ve accomplished so far:
1. Blogging opportunities.
From ghostwriting three blogs with flat rates and writing for two with revenue sharing business model, I have dropped the revenue sharing blogging stints and one of those which I ghostwrite. But I bagged two more flat rates for Gabopia and will be working on two more for them hopefully this month. And I also got one temp blogging job for b5media’s Just Make Money Online.
So from 5 blogs (2 with revenue sharing) to 7 blogs all flat rates (4 with opportunity to also share revenue from blog’s growth). Sweet isn’t it?
2. Own blogs’ revenue.
Unfortunately, my AdSense earnings went down because one of my made for AdSense sites which is DMOZ-listed got a lower pagerank. This made me decide to develop my non-MFA sites to get more genuine love from AdSense, Adbrite, and Text-Link-Ads.
Here’s my average earnings from these online ads for the past three months:
AdSense - $102.08
TLA - $30.45
Adbrite - $4.17
Total =Â $136.70 (versus $179.8)
3. Blog Content Writing
Updating this blog has become a tad more frequent than before and I’m happy that I got myself some great new readers like Jack and the virtual assistant company proprietor Gabs and other lurkers. Don’t be shy, tell me who you are.
This month I’ll be focusing more on what I’ve been dying to do - feature the successful home-based entrepreneurs from the Philippines. So stay tuned.
4. Hire help.
Yes, I was finally able to get myself a good assistant but she’s still telecommuting. I think it won’t be that much of a problem really because hey I have an online business, right? But we’ve agreed on her going to the office whenever there’s really an immediate need for that.
No improvements with my stylesheet until now but with my newly hired web worker, it won’t be too hard to get the ball rolling with the SEO article’s stylesheet.
How are you doing with your own goals?

Hey Alfa,
Nice to see your progress in your online venture! Yep, I admit to being an avid reader of your blog (as well as Jozzua’s). In fact, you’re the only two Filipino bloggers whose posts I read everyday, heh.
I’ve been thinking of starting my own (and many tell me it’s about time), but I’m just not ready yet, with all these projects that needs finishing. I’ll definitely get around to doing that sooner or later (I hope sooner
).
Keep blogging, ladies and gentlemen! As long as you’re writing, I’m reading!
Gabs

@Jozzua,
Yeah! Where is that comic strip you promised me? No I’m an egotistic Filipina blogger that someone would rather bash.
@Shannon,
Thanks! I’ll try to grab that report. I dig free informative stuff.
@Gabs,
I thought you already have a blog. You have so many interesting bits of advice to give. Go write one NOW. *nudge*
