Home Business Goals for 2007
Got your resolutions up yet? I’ve just thought about mine just today when I read Blogtrepreneur’s Goals. I’m spontaneous like that. But no, I think these have been lingering on my mind for quite some time now. I’m confused like that.
Without further adieu…
1. Be able to accommodate more blogging jobs from blog networks. I’d like to get the most out of my passion for blogging and get more flat-fee blogging jobs, especially on topics like home office tools, pregnancy (I’ve never been preggy yet if you’re curious) and events coordination.
2. Earn at least $300 monthly from my own blogs. AdSense has been my baby since my Tabulas blogging days. But I haven’t been thinking much of these sponsored posts and text link ads selling until I’ve learned of the success of Abe Olandres, a very popular blogger who maintains Yugatech amongst many other successful blogs. His blog earns nicely from TLA and Adbrite. So, I tried them, too. Hoping to sell more TLA spots and find other blog monetization methods soon.Â
Here’s a breakdown of my recentest earnings:
Adbrite – $0.80
TLA – $25
ReviewMe – $20
AdSense – $134
Total: 179.8
3. Create more blog posts for my existing blogs. They have gained traction monetization-wise. It’s high time to accelerate on writing more content to maintain that traction.
4. Finalize the writing stylesheet and other documents that will help standardize my web content writing biz. Franchise opportunity, anyone? Just kiddin’.
5. Start a new Internet-based business not related to writing. I’ve decided that I’ll be giving more attention to this new venture on July.
I have other plans such as be able to hire a non-telecommuting writing assistant whom I can share the home office with and put up more sites either for flipping or for my web content writing business. But they’re not the top priority. It’s fun enumerating these goals but it could get a tad stressing to think of not getting them done. Â

Hi Alfa!
I am new in this blogging world, and I am starting to read other blogs. I am also looking for a home-based job because I wanted to spend more time with my 2-year old daughter. I am so glad I’ve found another Filipina. What makes me so thankful is that you’re blogging about work from home jobs. Thank you so much for all your tips. I found your entries very informative and helpful. May you reach all you goals for 2007. Keep up the good work!

Jayvee F,
I’m one of your followers. So I know your being a blogger and magcontributor. But are you working from home full time?
Thanks for taking time to leave a comment.
Sheryl,
Have you visited BestJobs yet? Lots of work-from-home jobs are posted there. Here’s the link: http://www.bestjobs.ph/bt-joblist.htm?Bqd=&Bqd=&Bqd=+TM003&BqdPalabras=home&x=34&y=9
Just be very careful though on who to trust.
Thanks a lot!

Hi. I don’t know if it’s appropriate to post this, but do you know anyone who can do a quick transcription gig for me? Just for this week…I’m really swamped. Thanks.

[...] Matt Keegan tells us: “I’ve been falling short of my goals, but am getting back on track by selling off some sites and upgrading others. Every month I take a close look at revenue and expenses, making adjustments on the fly. If one month or a string of months fall short, then I work extra diligently to refine my business model.” Alfa says: “Sure I did set some goals and I’m glad to say that although I can’t realize all of ‘em, so far, I’m faring quite well on reaching many of my making money online plans. One goal that I just can’t seem to achieve is getting myself some extra hand so I can concentrate on other ventures. I discovered how not so many people appreciate or even understand what I’m doing online that makes both ends meet for me. Making money online, no matter how popular it seems for us Internet addicts is still something strange for a lot of people, esp. the not so Internet savvy ones, of course.“ [...]
