How to Earn Money from Your Blog
Blog monetization methods have been discussed by oh-so-many successful bloggers out there. But some are not applicable to Filipino blogs. Here are the most helpful from my own experience and other netpreneurs:
Online Ads - Blogs with good traffic can earn some quite decent sum and sometimes an obscene amount of money from online ad networks such as AdSense, Text Link Ads* and Adbrite*.
Affiliate Links – Review blogs or those that are more into talking about tools, services, and products can best benefit from affiliate links. However, one should be very careful as not all affiliate programs are endorsing products that will be of great help to one’s readers.
Sponsored posts – Again, if you have a blog with good traffic, you can try sponsored posting such as PayPerPost and ReviewMe. Here’s a sample of my own sponsored post about ReviewMe. Not all sponsored postings have to be from networks who serve as middlemen, many niche blogs (a blog with a focused theme) with a good following, sponsors might directly offer you such arrangement.
Job Boards – The trend is having a subdomain of your blog’s main domain used as a job board. To monetize job boards, the blog owner will be charging those who would like to post jobs. Examples of job boards are Darren Rowse’s job board for bloggers and J. Angelo Racoma’s job board for probloggers and freelancers.
What’s important is you have a blog with quality content and lots of pages, too, for readers to want to read on and on. This reminds me to post more on this blog as I’ve been taking it for granted due to a lot of biz matters. Blogs on certain timely themes such as celebrity and hobby blogs are good to monetize, too. That is, if you don’t have a problem with earning off a bit from your readers. Oh, and a blog with a high pagerank counts also, if you want more advertisers on your blog.
If you haven’t tried any of those options, it’s high time to explore them. You’ve been missing out a lot on how you can get back that money you’ve been spending on your Internet connection.

Have you heard about this new and interesting earning possibility for prolific writers who are quite comfy with the Internet? It’s known as problogging. Problogging or professional blogging is this new craft that many Filipinos are starting to get involved with.
Making Money Blogging for Blog Networks
Go try if you can win a blogging slot for blog networks. I was told that to up your chances of getting hired is to show your sheer passion for the blog topic you are aiming to blog about. And having a unique voice is a plus, too.

[...] 2. Earn at least $300 monthly from my own blogs. AdSense has been my baby since my Tabulas blogging days. But I haven’t been thinking much of these sponsored posts and text link ads selling until I’ve learned of the success of Abe Olandres, a very popular blogger who maintains Yugatech amongst many other successful blogs. His blog earns nicely from TLA and Adbrite. So, I tried them, too. Hoping to sell more TLA spots and find other blog monetization methods soon. [...]

If you have a Blogger.com blog platform, just tweak its template section to add TLA and Adbrite codes. But if you’re using Tripod, I’m not sure you can add those codes.
It’s better if you register your site’s domain name and get paid hosting so you can monetize it more freely.

[...] Ok, I’m not offering you any business opportunity scam here. From your hobbies, you can easily find an extra source of income that does not need you to sell or do too much activities like you would for your regular job. If you are often online, why not make the most out of it and profit from the Internet. Do you like what I’m doing in my blog? You might want a blog for yourself, if you are passionate enough and can communicate well your thoughts, you can make money from a blog. IF you’re so good a writer and you are an expert on one field that not too many people have written a book or an e-book yet, get your creative juices aflowing and create an ebook that you can self-publish. If you have a digicam, take photos and set up a photoblog using a photoblog-friendly Wordpress theme, not a Flickr account. [...]
