Networking and Home Business Success
Home businesses are usually small to medium scale enterprises. So how does one compete with the other players in a very congested market?
If you know some people who have had success in implementing a home business, you’d probably figured out that one of their common factors is the kind of business relationships that they have.
A home business is established and grows on relationships. Building your pool of prospective consumers and clients is what we call “branding.” Branding is basically concerned with having your product associated with a certain distinct feature that defines its being. Branding is very important for it will be one of the driving forces of the home business.
Expanding your network for your home business can be done in many ways, one of them is by attending a networking event. However, you might not find the right people whom you would really like to make connections with in these events. This is because these events can be cluttered by too many sales men and non- stakeholders.
As you may know, no business is an island. The right connections can expand the potential of a business. You might have heard of small businesses suddenly getting big because of a certain break, those breaks usually come from “someone” big.
It’s not really about the number of connections, but the quality of the connections. Yes, numbers do help, but at the end of the day, I would rather have a hundred contacts who can deliver me business than having tens of thousands that can’t do me any good.
Targeted networking is the way towards expanding a home business. One might find difficult to do, but it’s something that has to be done one time or another.
And speaking of targeted networking, attending the PubCon is just an example. I wish I could go.
