Mystery Shopping as an Extra FUN Source of Income
I remember applying for a job as a mystery shopper and I got interviewed through a phone call. The interviewer asked me if I have any idea about the job description of a mystery shopper. I briefly answered, “You evaluate the quality of customer service a shop delivers to its customers…” And, the interviewer quickly added, “… without disclosing your identity or your job to the salespeople or whoever you’re evaluating.” I got psyched when the interviewer told me that she will mail my first project soon, which means I got the job, right?
But after more than a month, no mail from any mystery shopping company was ever delivered to my doorstep. Tsk!
Now I came across another mystery shopping job post – SatisFind is looking for Customer Experience Advocates aka secret shoppers. Here’s the customer experience advocates benefits according to Satisfind:
- You get to dine out for free at restaurants.
- You get to work out in fitness clubs, stay in hotels for free.
- You get to go to gasoline stations to gas up your cars for free.
- You get reimbursed for the products you buy from stores which you get to keep.
- You get paid to make inquiries at retail outlets.
- You choose the projects you want to “shop” for.
- You choose your own working hours.
What could be cooler than that? The catch? Understanding that working as a mystery shopper is really just a source of extra income, I don’t see any trouble with mystery shopping. If you’re fine with those perks and have the time to shop around, register as a Customer Experience Advocate.
