4 Reasons for Filipinos to Start Home Based Businesses
Sure, there are those who are just so proud because they’re working for stable companies like San Miguel. But ever heard of layoffs? Here are four more reasons why we people of the Philippines better start our own work at home gigs:
1. More Personal Freedom
Aside from having more time for family and friends, one who’s setup a home-based business may have more time to indulge in his or her creative side by continuing to pursue hobbies that used to be neglected because of the office pressures. As opposed to the notion that working at home stunts one’s social growth, one can have more time to widen his or her social network as long as telecommuting schedule is well-executed.
Reports have it that each year, Americans spend about 348 hours commuting. Filipinos might even spend twice or thrice that much because of the chronic traffic.
2. Better Health
With a home business, it’s easy to forget about the time and never stretch a limb if you engross yourself fully to your job. But that’s defeating the purpose of telecommuting. If you’re just starting out your biz that’s normal. As you get the hang of your home-based gig you will have more time to spend to manage your health. Soon you will have more time for gym visits, jogging or sports that you have stopped doing ever since you stepped on the corporate ladder.
Commuting means traffic, pollution, heat, accidents, stress. Those can be avoided if you’re at home. One more thing is for those who can’t find permanent employment. Except for freelancing, many home-based employment offer security. Studies have shown that casual jobs can be detrimental to one’s health.
3. Increased Income and Opportunities
Unlike working for a company, if you have your own homebased business, your output is directly proportional to your income. Again, having more time is one of the best gifts of telecommuting. A flexible schedule means improved productivity. One can also enhance his or her entrepreneurial skills that can eventually lead to better business opportunities. There are just a handful of Pinoys who excel in the business industry. Owning a home-business could be the start of bigger biz endeavors.
4. Technology is Within Pinoys’ Reach
Aside from the cellular phone fad, more and more technological devices are now more easily accessible to Filipinos. These gizmos can facilitate telecommuting a lot. Inexpensive laptops and affordable internet service are just a few of the basic needs of one who would like to embark on a home-based venture. If one would not wish to be dealing with an online job, the Internet can still be a very indispensable tool to market one’s services or business.
Running a home business is one of the best moves an entrepreneur can do especially that the streets pose more danger now. If only Pinoys could just stop on thinking that becoming a part of the rat race or becoming a nurse or caregiver abroad is the only way to to suceed…Â
